Hi, was wondering if the nest cam outdoor is a usable product during Canadian winters. How fast does the battery drain on the camera. We go below - 20 for months and need to know how many days of usage I get per charge.

We've had a Google Nest Camera (Battery) since Sept. 2021, plugged in all the time with the optional power cable, and it has stayed charged at temperatures as low is -20 degrees Fahrenheit in a Minnesota winter. However, if you intend to run it on battery power, you should know that the battery cannot charge at temperatures below freezing. After numerous posts in this forum and elsewhere, Google Nest finally conceded this by adding this help page several months ago: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11830989?hl=en

The selling point is how convinient it is. The cold temps we get makes a wired device still necessary. And there are better wired options on the market.
