Nest door bell camera

Ive had this system now for the last year or so ( 5 x internal cameras and door bell camera, three thermostats, two speakers and and three mini display hubs)

When someone presses the doorbell it takes up to 60seconds for me to watch the live feed, by then the person has gone!!

I have contacted google several times, WI FI is excellent speed and connected. I give up trying then being frustrated I start the whole process again. This time I am not giving up and will get this sorted. I have 5 x internal cameras, door bell camera, three thermostats, two speakers and and three mini display hubs ....... I have spent a small fortune thinking that google/nest is a good product but now thinking I need to changed to the poor reliability . Prove me wrong google !!!!

I know other people are experiencing this, what is the solution google ????

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Hi Brad

what do you suggest to sort this out?

Hey folks

We understand the importance of getting a real time preview of your doorbell camera live feed. Let’s get this sorted — a few questions: what’s your internet speed (download and upload speed)? How far is your doorbell from the router? Is it connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network? Were there any changes to your Wi-Fi network? Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi where the camera is connected to? Also, are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?

Going over the steps here might help:

  1. Check your internet speed here: https://goo.gle/2JaUmYI. The page would show your download speed then click “Show more info” to check your upload speed.
  2. Restart your doorbell:
    • Locate the reset pinhole at the back of the doorbell.

Tip: The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port at the back of the doorbell.
    • Press and hold for 5 seconds.
    • Your doorbell will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.
  3. Restart your modem or router, unplug it from the power outlet, wait for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, plug it back in.
  4. If you have a dual band Wi-Fi frequency, ensure to pair it to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency to get a stable connection.
  5. If all else fails, factory reset your doorbell. Please read the instructions carefully to factory reset your doorbell.

I appreciate the help here, Brad.

Thanks,

JT
