Nest door cam won’t play video

Hi, i have a nest doorbell cam. It all works very well except it will not play the videos. I can’t figure out why. 

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a nest aware subscription?  If not it won't store video footage, only live streams.

Hi, no I do not, I read about this and the text I wrote said it would store up to I think 20 seconds only. Is this not true?

If you don't have a subscription then no video would be stored, only real time and notifications, but you cannot go back to see anything sadly.  

 

I would suggest the subscription, I've had one since nest hello first came out and love it for my use case, but it's optional, just makes the experience much better 🙂

Thank you for this. I use to get 3 hours worth of video as part of having the camera. do you know when this changed? 

I have just been reading and I should have 3 hours of event history. I think there is a problem why my videos will not play.

Its not 3 hours of video, its 3 hours of event history.  The 3 hours video was probably part of your 30 day free trial of aware. This means that without a subscription, you can get photo snapshots of detected activity up to 3 hours in the past.
