Nest doorbell (BATTERY) audible chime?

Cynthialeigh

How can I get  more than a pop up notification on my device when someone rings my new doorbell?

A notification is way too easy to miss, I need an audible, sustained, sound to let me know someone is at the door at anytime. Having a notification only works when I happen to be looking at my phone or iPad. (I currently have no other smart devices)

Do I need a google speaker in the house? Will that even work? Inside the Home app, under settings, it says, “electronic chimes won’t work with your doorbell when it’s using battery power”. Does that mean there is NO WAY to have anything other than phone notifications?

Well, if having to buy an additional piece of equipment (Hub) is the only solution (because I haven’t found any other solution) then I guess there is no more assistance required.

@Cynthialeigh

I apologize for the inconvenience, but yes if you want an audible tone then I suggest getting a smart display or smart speaker to connect it too for a ringtone.

Best regards,

Brad.
