Nest doorbell battery offline because of a battery issue

Our doorbell (battery) stopped working recently. The battery died and when we tried charging it, couldn’t get it to charge. We now have a message on the app that says the doorbell is offline due to a charging issue.

The doorbell is just out of warranty.

My question is: could we wire it up and get some more life out of it? I don’t want to pay for an electrician to wire it up if there is a reason it may not work.

How old is the doorbell?   If it is just recently out of warrant then Google might still help you.

It’s about 2years and 1 month old.

how do I even go about checking with them?

Here is a link that will let you fill out an official support tickets with Google and they will respond.  But my guess is that far our to warranty they will not offer to help.  But it might be worth a try.   Here is the link.

Thanks for the link. But assuming they don’t help, back to my original question, would wiring it in potentially work?

@hiltmitch

The battery doorbell is designed to always run off of the battery even when it is wired, so if you can't get the battery charged, I don't think it can work.

Okay, that’s a bummer, time to try a different brand. Thanks for the advice
