Nest doorbell battery: only getting notifications on phone when doorbell button is pressed

Nest doorbell battery only getting notifications on phone when doorbell button is pressed not when the camera detects a person. All notification settings in the phone (samsung galaxy) are correct. All notification settings in the google home app are correct. All notification settings in the doorbell part of the home app are correct, including push notifications, people, and packages. Powered the phone all the way off and turned it back on. I got one singular notification for a person seen about 2 minutes after the movement was detected, and then nothing again except when the button is pressed.

Set one up at my house several months ago, no issues at all. Tried to install on at my mothers house and this is the result. At my whits end.

We just recently enabled notifications on our Google Nest Battery Camera. Push notifications for people events on our Google Nest Battery Camera--configured in the Google Home app--do get sent to my iPad, but NOT to either of our iPhones. Push notifications for our older Nest cameras and doorbells--configured in the Google Nest app--get sent to both iPhones and my iPad just fine.

I tried deleting and re-installing the Google Home app on my iPhone.  Once I also re-enabled Notifications for the Google Home app, the "Time Sensitive" notifications from our Google Nest Battery Camera started appearing on my iPhone.
