Nest doorbell charging slowly even despite troubleshooting

This is my first time charging the Nest Doorbell (battery), it's only been in use for a few weeks.

In the Google Home app, it keeps saying "charging slowly". It was charging for 3 hours and only went from 15% to 17% battery when it's supposed to be fully charged in 4 hours.

I'm charging it indoors so temperature is not an issue.

I have tried:

- the charging cable that came with the doorbell

- different charging cables that I use for my phone

- using a 5W wall charger bloc

- using a 15W adaptive fast charging bloc (the doorbell didn't come with a charger, only the cable)

- factory resetting the doorbell

It's still charging slowly...very frustrating.

Here are a couple tips to check:

 

  • Double-check the cable connection: Make sure the charging cable is securely plugged into both the doorbell and the power source. A loose connection can hinder charging efficiency.
  • Clean the charging port: Dust or debris in the doorbell's charging port might be interrupting the connection. 
  • Factory Reset: Try resetting the doorbell while it's connected to the charger. Follow these steps to factory reset your Nest doorbell.
