I'm having an issue with my Nest battery doorbell.
It constantly seems to disconnect and requires me to restart the hotspot it's attached to.
Due to the distance between the door and my router - I have an external powerline adapter extending wifi to the door.
For some reason, the doorbell always disconnects and the connection is not restored until I reboot the router and extender.
No other devices disconnect from the extender, and connection is stable otherwise - just the random disconnects.

Hello LiamY,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far is it from your Wi-Fi router? Are there any appliances in between your Nest Doorbell and router that can interfere with the wireless signal? Aside from restarting your Wi-Fi router and extender, you may also try restarting your Nest Doorbell and monitor its behavior. Also, it's recommended to connect it directly to your main router and not on a hotspot.

Emerson

It's downstairs, so quite a distance. I don't think this should matter as the connection is Powerline (Wired) between my router and extender.

No devices that could be causing interference as far as I'm aware, if I restart the extender the doorbell does connect again but honestly, I'm a little confused as to why it can't just re-connect itself because, during the entire time the extender continues to provide a wi-fi connection. As far as I can tell the nest doorbell is disconnecting randomly and then won't ever attempt to establish a connection again until I reboot it.
Also, it's recommended to connect it directly to your main router and not on a hotspot.
I do understand this recommendation, but it's not practical in my living situation. The only devices I have issues with on the extender is this one. Other devices including 3rd party IP cameras don't seem to have issues like this.

Hi LiamY,
I appreciate the update. Try running a speed test from where the Nest Doorbell is installed and post it here. You may try resetting it to the factory default and monitor its behavior. Just a reminder, after the reset all of your event history will be deleted. A
Looking forward to your response.
Best,
