I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) isn't ringing your indoor chime when the Nest Chime Connector is installed, especially since it works correctly when the connector is removed. Based on the behavior you're describing, where the chime works without the connector but not with it, a defective chime connector is a strong possibility.
