Nest doorbell extremely hot and will not connect to Internet, was connected for years with no issue

I just switched to a new WIFI router, and cannot get the Nest doorbell connected. I have power cycled the doorbell several times, and have tried connecting using the QR code on the back. I cannot get a blue or yellow light (or any light) and the doorbell is hot to touch, despite outside temps in the low 80s and the doorbell is not in direct sun.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

have done a restart several times.  disconnected the doorbell, let it cool and reconnected. It got hot again. No lights on doorbell.

Contacted Google days ago and spoke to a tech....no response as to what to do.   Hello RING!
