I have the same problem.  Just received my Nest Hub Max and no notifications.  Like the original poster, I get notifications on my phone just fine.  And I can use the hub to view video on the doorbell.  Devices are in the same home.  What other steps are required to get the notifications on the hub?  This is the only reason I purchased it.

Things to check:

  1. Make sure your doorbell is in the same home as your display (sounds like that's the case already for you).
  2. Turn on personal results for your display. You also need to select the Always show proactively option.
  3. Make sure notifications are turned on for your display.
  4. Make sure do not disturb is turned off for your display.

Let me know if this helps!

They are both in the same home.  I've turned on personal results and made sure do not disturb is turned off.

There isn't a notifications yes/no selection for the hub, but I've tried it with filters on and off.

Still no notifications on the hub while they come through find on the iOS phone app.

Hey folks,

Appreciate the help, davidking.

To confirm, are you using a dual-band router(2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)?  If so, are your doorbell and Nest Hub Max connected to the same Wi-Fi network?

Thanks,

Archie

Hey folks,

I just wanted to follow up to see if you still need our help. Please let us know as we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks,

Archie

Hi!  Thanks for following up with me.

I have an Orbi system with a router and a satellite.  I just went into the attached devices display and I see the Nest doorbell and the Nest Hub Max connected to the network, both on the 5GHz band.  However, the doorbell is on the satellite and the hub is on the router.

Maybe this is why the hub is not getting the notification when someone rings?  The hub does offer the option of connecting to live video and shows the doorbell battery status as 80% (it's connected to power).

Set up of the hub was seamless and quick and they are on the same network, but there was no option to select the router or satellite.

I guess I could try unplugging the satellite, but I'm not sure I know how to reset the doorbell or if it will have success connecting to the router.

I'll try resetting the hub and place it right next to the Orbi satellite first.

No, even when both are on the satellite, the notification doesn't appear on the hub.  And the video doesn't start automatically.
