Nest doorbell ring themes

Any chance ring themes will become permanent? Cause they should be.

I suppose you’re right if you owned a haunted themed house! That would be pretty cool actually.

Based on recent info, it seems as if the Nest Hello (battery) will be getting some kind of additional ring options beyond the seasonal themes. Not sure why the wired version is being cut out but at least a variety of tones does seem to be coming to the battery version.

For now it’s just the standard ring. Around Halloween and Christmas new themes become temporarily available for the seasons and then are removed afterwards.

How do you even get your doorbell to “ring”? I am lost

Under the settings in the app there is an option that appears to change the ring for the season. It hasn't appeared yet.

We wired our doorbell into the existing doorbell wiring and chime in the house. We also have the hub in the kitchen that makes a tone and shows the video when someone rings the bell.

I would also like to see the themes available permanently. It makes for a nice conversation piece year round with different themes applied... Not sure why this can't be done instead of "seasonally".

Please supply an answer to this question.

Well the Halloween themes are very Halloween-ish. It would be very unusual to have a witches laugh in something like July!

Not if you owned a haunted theme house! I just know that my sister in law has a door bell that has multiple different themes and rings available year round much like ringtones on your phone. This should be a feature on the nest doorbell.

The seasonal ringtones are not available for older doorbells just the latest version, thanks google way to keep your customers happy.

That is not entirely accurate.

The seasonal themes such as Halloween and Christmas are available to all Nest Hello devices. For example, my Hello is from 2018 and the current Halloween theme works perfectly.

That being said, there are new ringtones coming that are exclusive to the Nest Hello (battery). Those tones will not be available on the current wired doorbells. This may change in the future but limiting the new ringtones seems to be a tactic to encourage users to purchase the battery version.

But the seasonal themes work fine regardless of doorbell model.

you must be one of the lucky ones because myself and many others have installed the latest update and selected spooky sounds and we still get the default ringtone read comments on Reddit about it so no they don’t work on everyone’s.

As the “spooky sounds” selection seems to be listed in your settings, that indicates the theme is available to you. For it not currently working, that’s a separate issue. But the option is there to be selected.

Can you post what steps have been taken to attempt to fix it? I can post a few options but I don’t want to be repetitive if you’ve already attempted them.
