Nest doorbell rings outside?

Cab1

Just had adt install the nest doorbell. Two questions: why does it chime OUTSIDE at the device itself? That makes no sense.

And I'm using the nest mini for inside doorbell audio as the device wasn't compatible with my digital doorbell transformer (when wired it kept ringing non stop). The question:  the nest mini will chime once the doorbell is pressed.  But if you press the doorbell repeatedly, the nest mini does not chime repeatedly... which can be a problem if you don't happen to hear the doorbell the first time someone presses the button outside.

Any thoughts on these two questions?
