Nest doorbell stop streaming live video

Oceandeep
Community Member

I managed to hardwired the Nest doorbell (battery) and have been running well with live video for about 15 days. And then 2 days ago when I tried to stream live video from the Google home app, it says “Remount this device once it’s charged to see live video or receive event notification”. The battery is showing it still has 28%. I am current away and cannot have access to the doorbell. Does it means someone tried to unmount my doorbell? Is there anything I can do to resume live video?

thank you

Hey Oceandeep,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. Was there any power outage recently? If yes, that's the reason why the battery has been used. Also, if you see the battery percentage, that means it's not properly plugged into the power outlet or transformer.

You need to unmount the doorbell and charge it using the power cable that came with it. Also, you need to charge it first, so you can resume the live video. I'd suggest reaching out to someone at home to charge the device.

Check out this link for additional help.

Thanks,

Archie

It looks like the battery doorbell has the same odd design as our Google Nest Camera (Battery), where we cannot check the battery level when the camera is plugged in (as ours always is). When it's plugged in, the Battery setting says "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol and no battery percentage.  We have to unplug it to check the battery percentage.

Hi there,

Thanks for offering the help. I managed to get access to the camera, i suspected the camera was not tightly clicked into the war plate. I tried to release the doorbell with the key and put it in again, it works again.
