Nest doorbell suddenly stops working, feels hot to touch

Hello, my Nest doorbell suddenly stopped working and felt hot to touch last Saturday. I've examined the wire and everything worked normal. Tried all troubleshooting steps and all seemed irrelevant to the issue. Even borrowed my neighbor's doorbell and it worked fine so I assume it's something wrong with the Nest doorbell itself.

I've reached out to support for 5 times on 5 days via chat and was promised that someone would contact me via email within 24 hours or a business day but that NEVER happened. Chat agents sound like chatbot keep saying someone will respond in 24 hours or they either "elevated the case" to a dedicated team. I have not received any form of confirmation email or progress updates email. I don't understand what's taking so long. I'm wondering if that's the kind of customer support that I deserve to have after being a loyal customer for 5 yrs and a continuous subscriber of Nest Aware. 🙂

Hi there, nestuser.

I am terribly sorry to hear that you have ran into this issue with your Nest Hello being very hot to the touch! I can imagine this has been quite frustrating for you to deal with. Thank you for bringing this up to my attention, BinaryJay! I appreciate your help thus far. I would love to look into this further for you.

  • It sounds like your Nest Hello Doorbell may have a malfunction.
  • Here is an article on returns if it qualifies for a return.

Please let me know if you still need further assistance. A restart most likely won't fix this issue, it does sound like it may possibly be an internal issue with the device itself. I appreciate your patience, and I am sorry that there was no response until today.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad, it must be fun posting a reply suggesting a link (in the second bullet for the article on returns) without it being hyper-linked to anything..... seems like this issue is not going to be resolved anyway lol

Hi nestuser.

I was not aware, but my ability to hyperlink was broken at the time. I apologize for that. If you still need help with this issue, here is the correct article on returns. Have at it.

Best Regards,

Brad.
