Nest doorbell with Echo Show 15 Trouble

Tmarsillo
Community Member

Hello all I’m hoping someone out there can help me.

I am having trouble setting up my nest wired doorbell to the echo show 15- to alert me when someone is at the door. I get this error saying live view is not supported on this device and cannot enter the setting to adjust motion announcements.

Any idea?

Hi Tmarsillo,

Thanks for reaching out! Setting up your Nest Hello Doorbell(wired) with your Amazon Echo show is still a product limitation and beyond our expertise. You can try these following steps:

Add a new Nest thermostat, camera or doorbell:

  1. Add your Nest device to the Google Home app.
  2. At the top right of the app home screen, tap your account profile >  Home app settings.
  3. Tap Partner Connections > Amazon Alexa.
  4. Turn on permissions for your new device.
  5. Say “Alexa, discover my devices.”

Remove a Nest device:

  1. Do either of these steps.
    • Turn off Alexa Partner Connections permissions for that device.
    • Remove your device from the Home or Nest app.
  2. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the Alexa app.

For your setup guide and skills integration you can go to Control Nest products with Amazon Alexa. You might want to reach out to Amazon Alexa for further assistance.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT
