Videos/ events wouldn't play back on the phone or the web browser. I tried to update my nest aware that said it was over on 9/5/22 or so but after doing so all my prior events were gone from the day and I had 32.

Hello, I'm an end user like you. I'm pretty sure that once your subscription runs out then ALL of the footage is gone forever. And if you re-activate the subscription it will not bring back that old footage. You can check with the folks at nest by opening a support ticket if you like to see if there is anything they can do. But I believe others have tried without success. Here is how to open a ticket:
