NestCam battery set up

Hi. Trying to set up a new NestCam (battery). Bought set of two and both are failing to set up. Google Home app isn't seeing the device - they don't show up at all when going through GoogleHome add new device procedure. Restarted camera, restarted phone, restarted wifi router, wifi and bluetooth enabled on phone.....but no luck. Any ideas?

Try adding a new device, and scan the QR code that came with it.

Thanks. That is what I have been doing but no go...

Make sure you are on a WIFI, and nothing is distorting the signal. It could be a simple WIFI issue that is messing things up for you.

Ok thanks. Will look into that. If it was a wifi issue wouldn't the app at least find the device during set up even if it later fails to connect to wifi? Or no?

I recently tried connecting a smart device for a friend I was helping out, and only later did I figure out his phone was connected to the main router, but his Home setup was connected to a wifi point, with a different WIFI name. Your WIFI selection on the phone/tablet should be the same, as the WIFI your smart devices are connected to. Sometimes it's the small things that can trigger that devices doesn't seem like they are working. I hope this will help you.

I'm having the same issue on my mesh network.  It's difficult to determine what is set up to which router.  This is too automated.  I just want the manual option.

Hi all. Reupping this issue. Still no luck and exasperated at this point. Created new Wifi network with brand new Eero. But seems like my camera is still not seeing the network.

More background: the camera I am trying to set up is 1 of a set of 2 that I bought. The other camera is in a different home and set up no problem and is working on that network.  I have 2 homes set up on the google home app with the camera that is working set up on one home. And am trying to add this second camera to the second home.

Was wondering if it was some type or conflict in the app between the 2 homes, HOWEVER, I tried to set up the problem camera first before the second home/second camera were set up and did not work then either. So not clear the 2 homes is the issue.

Any troubleshooting tips greatly appreciated, particularly with respect to wifi settings. Have done factory reset, phone in airplane mode etc.

Thanks!
