Nestcam reports "No Events" today, when there were events today

We have a Nest Dropcam Pro that we've used successfully for a few years in our house without issue. However, recently I have noticed that if I check the Dropcam in the morning, there is activity happening in the rooms (which are also shown as "events" below the live stream) but if I check the app later that day (like early afternoon) it will say "Today- No Events". As an example, we were in the room this morning around 9am and were showing on the live feed in the Nest App at that time, as well a the Events below. But if I open the app right now (midday) it says "Today No Events". Why isn't the movement from this morning being listed in today's events? If I click on the hour-by-hour summary and scroll back up to 9am, there are no events showing even though we were in the room at that time (see attached photo).

How can I rely on the Nest app to know if there was activity in my house today (if I am, for example, on vacation) if the events seem to  be erased, later in the day? There have been no changes to WiFi or connection, so basic troubleshooting is not helpful.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how upsetting this may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this. Do you have an active Nest Aware subscription? Were you previously on a trial that may have ended? Here is a great link on how Nest Aware works and how to subscribe. In addition, here is a link on how to manage your subscription.

Best regards,

Brad

Thanks Brad,

I do not have a Nest Aware subscription, and can't imagine that I was on a trial that recently ended, since we've had this camera for 5 years.

According to the link you sent, when I click on "Select your product to compare features with and without a Nest Aware subscription"-- without a Nest Aware subscription I should get "basic motion detection". Previously, these showed up in my alerts (until recently) as an image showing the motion (like a picture of a person in the room) below the live feed in "events", for that day. You were not able to see events from yesterday without a subscription (or view video of anything but live feed) but photos of events from today were available, until recently.

What has changed?

@DTeed

Unfortunately, as you have a DropCam Pro, which is an older camera, it simply doesn't have the same features that are available on newer models. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Is the policy the same for NestCam Outdoor?  We have that camera as well.

I have a great article that should go over what each camera can or can't do. I hope you are able to find this article helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Brad
