Our new Google Nest Cam (battery) does not appear in the Nest app. We can only view it, access its history, and configure it in the Google Home app.
Conversely, most of the settings for our other Google Nest cameras and doorbells can only be configured in the Nest app, and their history can only be configured in the Nest app.
This is crazy! We have to use one app for all of our older Google Nest cameras and another app for the newest one.
I just installed my 2nd Gen indoor cam. As soon as it said I needed the google app to install it I said to myself “uh oh.” I was right. They don’t appear in the Nest so where’s my6 other camera as well as my Nest Protect units are nicely laid out. Terrific. There’s a better integration coming soon to the google as app? E had that. The Nest App. Thanks. I still can get over the comedy of entering a network password on the Next Thermostat while I’m in a complaining mood. My guess is we’ll never see an improved camera experience in any app. There’s so much talent at that company that the only has to be the person or persons seeing the Best roadmap don’t want to be there or are truly, we’ll I won’t say it. Stop fiddling with everything! Improve it using real customers beta testing ideas or leave it alone. Too late. You broke it.
I understand and I'm sorry for the frustration you're finding with the new cameras not connecting to the Nest app. Eventually all devices are meant to be controlled and managed through the Home app, creating a more cohesive experience in a single spot. The transition is a little bumpy, especially for those that have devices on both sides of the app split. While there are no plans to bring support to the new devices for the Nest app, Home app is continually being upgraded and receiving new features. I'm sorry for any frustration the transition has caused.
