I have installed the new Google Nest Doorbell (BATTERY).  Previously, I used a Ring product and you could set which tones you wanted as your audible notification on your iPhone.  How can you adjust that on your iPhone?  Right now, the tone sounds no different than any other app notification.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. Unfortunately, you are unable to change the ring/tone. It is set as the default sound. Thank you for your feedback though! I will send it forward to the appropriate teams. Please let me know if you need anything further.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi

Last week I was expecting a delivery and I was away from home. I figured when the postman pressed the doorbell I would get the notification on my pixel phone and instruct the postman to leave the parcel at the door. The poor postman came, rang the doorbell few time waited patiently then left with the parcel. I was gutted as I had to make a special trip to the collection centre to pick up my missed delivery. All this because the default notification sound on my phone is a gentle ping which I never heard. What I wanted was a loud sound only when my doorbell is pressed. After preserving for a solution I found one, tested it and works! I can't speak for an iphone however I am hoping the insight I will share can help. You see there is a way you can set a custom notification sound for any app. In settings in apps and notifications, I located the home app and then the doorbell and set a custom loud sound to be played when the doorbell is pressed. However before I did this I turned the default notification sounds for my phone to be silent. I tested it by pressing my doorbell and voila it worked !👍🙂

Same issue here, iPhone user and the tiny little buzz i get for the doorbell push is not good enough. if my phone is in its case in my pocket i just can't feel it often and miss being able to talk to the person at the door.

Why can't the doorbell push make the app 'ring' like a video call or WhatsApp call ? Come on Google this is really poor.

I agree, a ring like a normal call would be really good. When you answer the call it should then take you straight to the video feed. It's a no brainer, can't figure out why a tech giant like Google is not seeing the writing on the wall, it's simple fix that is really needed to improve the user experience. As it is, the home app is already cluttered, it takes effort to access the doorbell app in a timely manner.

Am I right in thinking the nest app did this with the original wired doorbell? This situation is so easily fixable, and will stop people losing a huge part of the functionality of the doorbell
