New Nest wireless outdoor camera doesn't show in Nest app

I set it up in the Google Home app, as it's instructions say. It shows up in the Home app, but not the Nest app. My doorbell shows in the Home and Nest app, and I use the Nest app because it's a bit more user friendly and simplistic than the Home app. 

I tried to install it with the Nest app, but it just kicks me to the Home app.

Unfortunately all new Nest cameras 2021 and later are only compatible with the Google Home app. It’s a horribly disorganized situation.

And I totally agree that the Nest app is superior. 100%. Home app is a mess.

The "Nest" cameras don't work with the "Nest" app?  

That is pretty ridiculous, who's running the show there?

Thanks for posting in our Community. I understand how frustrating it can be to not be able to connect your new Nest camera to the Nest app.

Our long-term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app.

As we've got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as resolved. I'll be locking this thread if we don't hear back from you in 24 hours. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or other concerns in the future.

Unfortunately, the newer Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 work only in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app. We discovered this to our surprise when we purchased a battery camera in Sept. 2021. We still miss the functionality that is missing in the Google Home app and are still frustrated with now having to use 2 apps.
