I recently moved in to a house with nest cameras installed outside. When I scan the QR on the backside (through the app) it says something like needing to bring the camera inside the house.. The cameras are wired and I cannot detach them. Is there an easy way to scan the QR code and start using the camera? Does the previous owner have to reset it?
Thanks

HI Sam, I'm and end-user like you but I have worked with these cams for a long time. I'm pretty sure you are getting that message because the camera is probably trying to find the previous owner's WIFI network.
To fix it so that you can add it to your own network I believe you have reset the camera to the factory settings Make sure you dod the RESET and not just a reboot. Here are the instructions. Make sure you take your time and make sure you have the instructions for the correct camera. Most likely you have the older (Gen 1) cameras. If you are not sure post a picture here of the camera that you have.

Good luck and let me know if this works.

You get this message if your Nest Camera is not detected during setup. You can check this article on how to Troubleshoot Nest camera and doorbell setup messages for detailed steps.
