New nest battery camera not setting up in Google home app

I can’t add my new battery nest camera in the Google home app. It can’t find another device to connect to. I’ve tried about 17 times.

I’ve reset my Google Wifi and mesh points, the new camera is plugged in directly next to the router so there’s no interference. I’ve tried plugging it into other areas where there’s a Google home device and no luck either. I’ve tried restarting everything, unplugging and plugging back in and confirmed everything is on the same Wifi and it still won’t work.

My Wifi is very fast and working fine and all other nest/Google products work fine.

I think it connects via bluetooth first so you might have had that off.  I had to do this first before and then provide secondary authorization to access network wifi.

similar thing for me.  it asks me to press the button on my nest protect to help the battery nest camera connect to the network, but then it doesnt work and just keeps telling me to get closer to the protect...  something is wrong

@TimStan - so I found out if you have other products in your nest app that are offline (say a camera that you were using but took down and haven’t put it back up since) that is why the new camera can’t connect, it keeps trying to connect to that offline product… so I had to remove all the offline items - one camera, one door lock and one connect for the door lock. After that it synced up just fine and works easily. Just remember to remove everything from the Nest app, not the Google home app.

Hope this helps!

I had to create a new "home" then add the doorbell and then move all devices to the new home. It was a nightmare.

I’m trying to figure out how to add another camera.  The first one hooked up fine but I have gone round and round trying to connect the second camera

I only have one thermostat and one protect and they're both online in the nest app.  This doorbell is setup on google home app not nest app. But thats interesting to know.
