Next Doorbell - iphone notification

Is there seriously still no way to make the iphone notification sound different on the iphone? I use the Google Home app and it makes the tinest beep, I could really do with changing it to something louder.

Lots of other customer in this forum have also complained about this. Unfortunately, the Google Home app uses only the default iOS notification sound, and in a recent release Apple switched to a much quieter default notification sound.

All we can do is to send feedback (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7071494).

(The older Google Nest app provides its own doorbell sound for the older 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells that we still have.)

I did read that, I know someone said it was actually Apple's issue not Google's. To which I would respond why does the Ring app work just fine? Will send feedback now though thanks.

I'm not a technician, but if the Google Nest app can provide a doorbell sound, why can't the Google Home app?

Does the Google Nest app work with the latest doorbell? I havn't actually tried that yet

Sadly, no,  The Google Nest app only works with 1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells.  (We still have 3 of the older [1st gen] Google Nest Hello Doorbells. If I turn off my Apple watch, I get a doorbell sound on my iPhone.)

I don’t see why I need to reach out to Apple? This is a problem with the Google home app not putting a setting in for notification sounds. I have other apps on my iPhone where I can change the sound, such as ring doorbell. Why can I not do this on your app?

in answer to your question, no I’m not happy as I’m now missing doorbell notifications when I’m away from the house.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, if the Google Nest app can provide a notification sound that sounds like a doorbell, why can't the Google Home app do the same?
