I’ve had Nest wire doorbell and nest indoor cameras for a long time. They used to work with people announcements or when someone rings the doorbell. Ever since google bought nest it broke. No more announcements nothing. It only alerts me on my phone but again I don’t always have my phone on me in the house. I’ve tried resetting. They are all on the same home in google home app. Google assistant is turned on. Nothing works!! Google broke it.
All the old threads been closed with no solutions. Help please!

We've never seen any capability to get people (or motion) announcements on Google Nest devices, certainly not in the last couple of years, though customers have asked for it in this forum and on Reddit. "Visitor announcements" on Google Nest devices are limited to when the doorbell button is pressed. Was this really a capability years ago with Nest Labs?

Correct. When the doorbell is pressed it used to announce “someone is at the door” on all our nest cameras. Ever since google took over it all stopped. No more announcements when the doorbell is pressed. I’ve reset the doorbell. Uninstalled all cameras and reinstalled. It’s all on same home and same network. Nothing. It just got worse! It went from all cameras to one camera and then now nothing. I only get alerts on my phone.

That's odd. With "Visitor announcements" turned on, our Nest Hello doorbells send announcements to our Nest Hubs and Minis. Unfortunately, however, we had to turn off the indoor chime due to the failing internal battery on both of them (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Nest-Hello-Doorbell-cuts-out-when-butto...).

Yeah I don’t know what else to do. I press the doorbell and nothing works. Sigh…

Hi Minghoo, Mine sort of works. When someone hits the button on my Nest HELLO doorbell my (2) Nest Hubs verbally announce someone is there but the image is always gray. About 5 months ago it would always display the camera feed but that has stopped and I have given up trying to debug it.
You might try opening a support ticked with the Google Techs to see if they can fix it for you. If they do please report back here and lets us know what the problem was.
