No audio on Google Nest wired doorbell. Please help!

Hi everyone.   We bought a nest doorbell about 2 years ago and it has worked fine until about a month ago.   Now it no longer plays the incoming audio.   We can still talk perfectly during "Talk & Listen" sessions however the "listen" side has gone out the window.   With the exception of random static sounds we cannot hear a thing.   I've already rebooted/restarted/removed the device from the Home app and none of them have made a difference.    I've also already had a chat with Google support and the best they had to offer a suggestion to contact Ontech Smart services for a paid house call.    Has anyone else had this problem?   Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello KyleJames,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, do you have the battery type or the 2nd gen wired? In case you have the 2nd gen wired, have you upgraded your transformer? The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has higher power requirements than most doorbells. You need a transformer that is rated for 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA to provide enough power to your doorbell. If you've already installed your doorbell and you see a blinking yellow light on the front, your doorbell isn't receiving enough power. Also, please share your case ID here so that we can take a closer look at what happened.

To learn more, you may visit our public article about "Upgrade your transformer for Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen)".

Emerson

Hi Emerson,

I have the second gen wired and have had 0 issues for the past 2 years.  This problem just started about a month ago.   Im not sure the issue has anything to do with a transformer if the doorbell has worked flawless for 2 years.  Would you agree with that?    Also the light has never blinked yellow.  It has always been green.  As far as support I have had several conversations so there may be more then one case ID however here is the latest: 7-1317000035762

Thanks,

Kyle

Hi again Emerson.   Just checking to see if you have any guidance or advice to offer on my issue.

Thanks,

Anyone?   The doorbell still cannot pick up sound.  It's just a low humming at this point.
