No night recording

NOnightRecordin

I got 2 indoor/outdoor battery Nest Cams 2 weeks ago and they have never recorded at night. I have seen cars go by at night but the cams do not record. If I open the app I can watch a car go by live. The cams record cars and trucks all day, but never after sun down. I have all video settings set on max. Zone and out of zone settings are all on except for dogs and cats.

I don't expect much trouble during daylight hours...got these for night!

We have had a Google Nest Camera (Battery) for 13 months, plugged in with the optional power cable. It does a poor job of DETECTING events at night, though it does record them because we have it plugged in and have a Nest Aware Plus subscription.

If your cameras are running on battery power, they may not be detecting events at night and therefore not recording them.

Hey folks,

NOnightRecordin, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. Let's try turning off and on all the event settings, then restart your camera to refresh the device. If all fails, resetting it to its default settings might help.

  1. Open the Google Home app, and tap the affected camera.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Select Events.
  4. Verify that the events the customer wants to receive are on.

Here's how to Restart or factory reset Nest camera.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

Archie
