Not able to talk to visitors on the Google Nest doorbell (battery)

Unbelievable this happened again for a Samsung S21 phone not being able to do a talk & listen session. It is now even worse because the microphone on the phone is not being used at all.

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Apps-Account/Talk-and-Listen-not-working-on-Samsung-Phone-Ver...

With the new google home app (version 3.1.1.15) the 'no sound on a talk & listed session' is back again. I was a public preview member and I noticed this bug already thinking the devs would be smart enough to test it thourougly before going live with this new style app.

I can get used to the new style, but not having the ability to talk with my visitors again is unacceptable for this expensive product. The bug was just re-introduced, marvelous!

For me this is it, I have not enough energy anymore to bring this to attention it needs.

I'm not going to repeat everything again from the thread I posted.

Hello Jelmer_,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To further isolate this issue, have you tried using a different mobile device? Have you tried restarting your mobile phone and reinstalling your Google Home app? Try to open your default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test your device’s microphone on the app. Also, check if your device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone. Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Emerson

Same issues for me as well. Couldn't be heard on my doorbell speaker and needed to talk to the person at the door. What a let down on a repeat issue.

I am experiencing the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S21.

For me, version 3.2.1.7 has solved the issue. Thanks for trusting the customers Emerson, if you had done some research in this matter, you would have seen the incident has an history for Samsung phones. We had to put in much more energy in this problem than necessary for customers to do so, but ok. Apparently google is to large to handle good communication, it's good in approaching customers like they don't know how to do basic troubleshooting.

Hi I have a brand new Doorbell that seems to have an issue with the speaker. Visitors can’t hear me (but I can hear them) and the can’t hear the automated messages (but I can hear that on video playback) There is no audible chime on the doorbell itself. I have done all of the things. Factory resets, setting etc etc any ideas?
