The Nest Outdoor Camera notification time can be improved by using the hardwire option and reducing battery-saving features. However, the cool-off period is absolutely unacceptable. Notifications will not fire until 5-10 consecutive minutes have passed since the last notification. In addition, packages can be stolen during the cool-off. Also, the purpose of a smart camera/doorbell is to notify you, IN REAL TIME, of events occurring outside/inside your home.
There have been multiple threads in this community and web on this topic, without any acknowledgment from Google. Will this issue be resolved? If not, I'll have to return the complete Nest bundle and purchase the Ring + Alexa setup. Most of my home is powered by Google, but this is a deal-breaker for Google Home as home security and notification times are essential.
I prefer to get confirmation of a fix and keep the Nest set up as it would let me keep my remaining smart home set up (Thermostat, Sony Google TV, Smart lock, Google Hub, Google Mini, Smart Plugs, etc.)

I same the same problem and i don't think Google cares about correcting this issue. Becasue of this, I'm moving away from the Nest family to the Ring cameras. I used Ring in the past and i know i get notifcations in about 2 or 3 seconds. Cool off for Ring is about 5 seconds.

I just got the Nest Doorbell and am very disappointed in the lack of consistent updates. Hopefully they fix the issue soon, but it sounds like an ongoing problem.
