I believe I have my camera setup to turn on when it senses my iPhone is not at the designated location. I just completed a “test run” with my wife. The camera was off my phone and I drove to the post office. My wife entered into the camera space. The camera sensed her motion, turned on, and recorded her movement. I was able to view the camera video on my phone while sitting in the post office parking lot. I drove home, the camera was still on. I was under the impression the camera would sense that my phone was back at the designated home location and turn itself off. That did not happen. I manually turned the camera off. Is this how the camera is suppose to function in a situation such as the one I described?

Hey BigTwin,
Home/Away Assist uses both Nest product sensor data and your phone location to decide when you've left the house and when you've come back. Additionally, Home and Away status can be used as a signal to trigger routines in the Google Home app.
Check out this link to Learn more about Home/Away Assist.
Thanks,
Archie
