Notifications from my Nest door bell and Nest Cam are not being sent to my Samsung S24 Ultra

I recently upgraded from a Samsung S22 to an S24 Ultra. Now my Google Home notifications are not being sent to my new phone ( S24 Ultra).

- I have disconnected the S22, and connected the S24 Ultra to the wi-fi and the home network.

- I have enabled all notifications in the Google Home App.

- I have enabled notifications in the S24 Ultra to allow all Google Home Notifications.

- I have created event zones and enabled anything captured in those zones to send notifications.

- I have uninstalled the Google Home app and reinstalled it, enabling all notification settings as previously described.

Periodically, I will receive one notification randomly. But the ratio is about 15:1. (for every 15, one notification is sent). When I go into the app It will show me all the motion, people, packages so it is recording the information.

Furthermore, other applications (news, social media, email) on the phone that I have enabled notifications for are working properly.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi Kelex92,

 

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. You may try turning off and on the notification settings from your Google Home app and the app notification settings from your phone then restart your phone and let us know how it goes.

Hi, I am having the same issue. I am using a nest battery doorbell that is wired in.  I have tried all of the above suggestions with no result. I've upgraded from a s21 ultra to the s24 ultra 512 on VZW. My wife is also using same model phone and is not getting notifications either. And there is also an iphone 13 that is part of the family group that is also not getting notifications. The camera is capturing the events, just not letting us know about it.  Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I am also having the same issue. I have updated to the S24 and now recieve no notifications for my doorbell.  I have tried everything but to no avail. It appears that its an ongoing issue for months from other forums etc. What are you doing to fix this google???

Hello everyone,

 

We understand how important it is to have an active notification. Notifications in the Home app are set to off by default. If you're setting up the app for the first time, or you're adding a new device to your home, the app will ask you if you want to turn notifications on. If you keep notifications off, you won't receive alerts about activity in your home, such as if a camera detects motion or if someone has rung the doorbell.


Change general notifications

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Settings and then Notifications.
  • If push notifications are not enabled in your device's settings, a banner will appear on the screen. To turn on push notifications in your device's settings, tap the link in the banner and follow the steps.

       3. Select General notifications.

       4. Turn any notifications on or off.

  • If you turn on critical alerts, but they're not enabled in your device’s settings, a banner will appear on the screen. To turn on critical alerts in your device's settings, tap the link in the banner and follow the steps.

I also have the same issue s23 ultra still gets notifications but the 2 s24 ultras do NOT the above options DO NOT WORK

Started getting notifications for about half a day on all devices but then they stopped.   None of the above fixes have worked for me.   About to delete my home and rebuild the profile to see if that fixes it..

This is also very frustrating, I also am not getting notifications despite having all notifications enabled.

After about 48 hours I started receiving notifications on a regular basis. I have no clear solution. I just did all the above listed things along with restarting my phone after all changes had been made and I started receiving the notifications. I wish I had a more concrete solution.

I still have both phones (S22 Ultra and S24 Ultra) and I'm getting notifications on the 22, nothing on the 24. I still have 4 days to return it and I think I will. Too many quirks in this 24, the screen is still washed out after the "update" and the Ai features are not enough to upgrade. I'm really disappointed in Samsung.

I'm getting notifications now on my S24+

I cleared the cache (Google Home app settings), turned all the notifications off and on again, turned the doorbell, my router and my phone off and on again and couple of times and behold..... notifications!

I am having the same issue switched from a 22+ to a 24+ and I'm still getting notifications on the 22 but none on the 24, well I'm getting nest notifications but not home notifications 😢

Hello everyone, I'm finally getting notifications. I installed the latest update. Then I reset my app preferences and restarted my phone. That somehow did it. I hope this helps!

Hi! Update, it works now!  I have the s24 ultra and my nest works but I wasn't  receiving any notifications. I try several times, restart, turn on and off notifications, and nothing.

Now it's working. I did:

Turn off all notifications.

Remove all permissions (go to settings, app home, app info and remove everything. 

Clear caché 

Force stop

Uninstall Google home (if you're afraid the devices might be deleted, don't worry nothing was deleted)

Turn off my phone and wait some minutes 

Turn on, download Google home using Play Store.

Go to front door in the app and install all the notifications, and the app. Info in settings and approve all permissions 

Close all apps on my phone, leave my phone inside the house and went out at 3 am and stand in front of the front door nest, lol. 

Probably many of these steps were completely unnecessary, but heyI I did tried everything before and nothing worked! 

It works now!!!!

Update: I forced stopped Home app, deleted all storage data and rebooted the phone.  Now getting notifications. Hoping it sticks this time.

New S24 Plus yesterday.  No issues yesterday or this morning. This afternoon suddenly Nest notifications don't include the screen shot, just the text notification.  My Samsung S9 worked fine with my Nest cameras for 6 years so it's likely an issue with the S24 Plus, but I have no idea what may have caused the notifications to stop including the photo of what caused the notification.  Any suggestions as to how to diagnose and solve this?
