Notifications on Home App

We have both Nest and Home apps with notifications turned on both, but we only get Nest app notifications and we no longer want those notifications. We only want Home App notifications. How do we disconnect the Nest App notifications and get the Home App notifications?

@ddro

The notifications you get depend on which notifications you have turned on for each camera in the Google Home app (for newer cameras released since 2021) or in the Google Nest app (for older cameras).

For any given camera, you can only turn on notifications in either the Google Nest app or the Google Home app (depending on the camera).  For example, notifications for the new 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell can ONLY be turned on in the Google Home app because the doorbell cannot even be accessed from the Google Nest app.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I don't know if our doorbell is 2nd generation: it is wired and says "Nest Hello" on the box. I switched off notifications in the Nest App and left only the Home App notifications on but now I don't get any notification at all. I disconnected notifications for the Nest App even in my Iphone and left notifications on the Home App on but still no notification in Home. Should I delete the Nest App or reset both?

@ddro

If you have the Google Nest Hello Doorbell (as we do), then you can ONLY get notifications for that doorbell through the Google Nest app. The Nest Hello doorbell does NOT send notifications through the Google Home app.  You can VIEW the Nest Hello in the Google Home app but you cannot control Nest Hello doorbell notifications there. Maybe you're referring to Settings | Notifications in the Google Home app, which are only for general notifications at the account level.

If you delete the Google Nest app, then you'll have no way of controlling your Nest Hello doorbell.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish.
