Out Door Nest Cam

Hi There , I have a query regarding my Nest Cam Outdoor , camera is about 4 years old and from day once it will record all the time & I have had this issue pretty much from the beginning , will try to explain. 

I have a parcel arrive to the door , courier arrives and leaves , nothing showing in the events , I have to physically scroll through the recording to see when he dropped of parcel etc , now I have it set to catch the front of the garden.

No help from Nest at all , anyone else have this issue and if so how was it rectified ?

Seriously thinking of ditching the Nest cam and going with Arlo

We have on occasion seen events that were not flagged as "events" on our Google Nest Outdoor Cameras. My guess is that it's a glitch on the Nest servers that causes this. Fortunately, on our older Google Nest cameras, we can still manually create a clip of such an event; that's not possible on the newer Google Nest cameras released starting in 2021.

RizzleKicks, I can understand where you're coming from as your Nest Cam Outdoor missed to detect/record a person or motion. Let's get this sorted — help me with these questions:

 

  • Do you have an active Nest Aware subscription?
  • Did you receive any notifications in the past?
  • Were there any changes to your Wi-Fi network?
  • Do you use email or push notifications?
  • Has the camera been moved recently?
  • Are there any Activity Zones set up for your camera?
