Outdoor Battery Camera

Outdoor battery camera mounted on magnetic mount then later I purchased the power cable and connected  to camera.

It's not keeping the camera charged or recording events even though the product details say with a weatherproof cable there is no charging needed

@Smudger67

We've had a battery cable plugged in with the optional 10-meter power cable since we purchased it in Sept. 2021 and it's been "Live" and online ever since, with no battery charging needed.

However, in the past I've seen a few posts in this forum from other customers in this forum who purchased the optional power cable sometime after first installing their camera, and they found they had to remove their camera from the Google Home app, perform a factory reset, and then reinstall the camera in order to keep their camera charged.

If things are working correctly, when you go to Settings | Battery, it should say "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.

It's almost as though there is some sort of a hidden setting that only gets set at the time of install, and indicates whether the camera is running on battery power or is plugged in.

Also, the power cable needs to be seated firmly in the bottom of the camera, and feeding towards the FRONT of the camera.
