Outdoor Nest Cam not picking up sounds (dog barking)

I recently installed a new outdoor wired nest cam. We are currently dealing with our next door neighbor's constantly barking dog. When I check the live feed, I can hear the dog barking, but my camera does not record it as an event. Also, when I use the filters to filter out "dog barking or other sound", it has nothing in the feed. We're trying to prove that this dog is a nuisance and I thought I'd be able to record the dog barking, that's why I bought  Nest vs others. 

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Unfortunately, the newer Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021, which get installed in the Google Home app, only offer sound notifications for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, in contrast to the older cameras and doorbells installed in the Google Nest app. We discovered this when we bought a battery camera in Sept. 2021.
