Outdoor Nest Cameras and T-Mobile Internet

The outdoor camera with flood light and outdoor camera will NOT connect with T-Mobile Internet. I have done absolutely everything. Separated networks to 2.4 and 5ghz, changing the security settings to the older WAP2 got the link connection set up less than 20ft away from the camera. Connect it to my hotspot with the same name and password  as the WIFi so it can get updates then turn off the hot spot. Google sent me a replacement camera, T-Mobile sent me a replacement router and Link module. Google says it's TMobiles fault, TMobile says it's a problem with the camera and neither of them will help anymore. They both opened tickets and they were closed out saying their product is not the issue. They took so long to get back to me that now they say my camera can't be returned. My return router got lost in shipping and TMobile is charging me for it until UPS can find it. I am out over $500 and still don't have an outdoor camera. I would highly recommend another brand for outdoor cameras. The indoor cameras and doorbell work great (which makes me definitely think it's something different with this camera that could be fixed).

Hi WWedel,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry about your Google Nest Camera with Floodlight and Nest Camera Outdoor not connecting to your T-Mobile internet. I appreciate that you've taken some steps trying to figure it out. I'm here to help! To gather some more details, I'd like to ask the following questions:

1. Do you see any error codes during the setup process?
2. What’s the color of the LED status light on both cameras?
If possible, please share a screenshot of the results of the setup process.

Let me know if you have any additional information; it’ll be helpful.

Best regards,
Juan

I had the identical problem and frustrations that you are having.  I could not connect a new Google floodlight camera to my T-Mobile home internet even though I already had a 2-year-old identical model in a different location that does work perfectly with T-Mobile. I spent endless hours with Google and T-Mobile tech support with each blaming the other. I went through 3 different flood light cameras (told by Google tech support that each of the first 2 must be defective) When the third camera was also not able to connect, I finally spoke with a knowledgeable tech at T-Mobile tech support who suggested to try the following: Buy an inexpensive router, I bought a Dlink at Menards for about $40. Connect the new Dlink router to the T-Mobile home internet and then connect the Google Floodlight camera to the Dlink router.  There must be something different about the new floodlight vs my 2-year-old unit even though they appear to be identical. Anyway, this solution worked perfectly for me. Hope this helps.
