Outdoor camera not waking randomly

We have recently added a outdoor battery camera to our Google Home. It’s will not wake up in the morning when the cars leave and seems to only wake up well after sunrise. It also randomly does not record events. We have changed all settings to.
-Highest sensitivity

-All motion, people, cars, animals

-We have plugged the camera into the mains permanently as well

wi-Fi settings are stable and running on 2.4 Hz

it seems to be no reason for these errors, and unfortunately, the product will have to be returned. If no solution can be found as it is not fit for purpose.

Is there anything else to troubleshoot to try and solve this problem? It’s a very expensive camera that does not do the complete job we need it to.

We've had a battery camera--plugged in with the optional power cable--for almost three years. It works fine. But when we've experimented with its performance on battery power by unplugging the camera, it does not do well at waking up from "Idle" mode to detect and record events, even if we walk directly in front of it.

Yes, I have read and experience this. That is why we have it plugged into the mains power. This still does not fix the problem though, as it is still occurring.

We have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, so the camera is recording 24/7 even if it does not detect an event and flag it as such.  Our camera does not work very well at flagging events at night (even though it is recording them.)

If you plugged in your camera AFTER you installed your camera, you may need to remove your camera, do a factory reset, and reinstall your camera.  Judging from other posts, it seems the camera has to be plugged in during the install process in order for the camera to recognize that it is plugged in and not running on battery power.

Also, judging from other posts, when using the 1-meter charging cord that comes with the camera, the camera may not function in plugged-in mode, and may still operate in battery mode.
