Outdoor cameras. One works great during the day but night is horrible. Ideas?

i have just spent 40 minutes on the phone to a Nest camera expert expressing concern at the poor quality of the footage when thieves were on my driveway at 3.40 am on Sunday morning and broke into my car . Half the call was about accessing security ,they cant view your footage and the only advice they can give me is to cleanse the lens . The night vision footage is absolutely shocking despite me buying the most expensive camera in their range . Don't waste your money on the IQ camera with night vision

Hey folks,

@msmartyu I’m sorry you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. When did it start happening? Did you make any changes to your Wi-Fi network? Also, have you tried any troubleshooting steps to fix this? Check out this link for additional help.

@CliveE Oh no! I understand how important this is for you. Could you tell us the case ID from your interaction with our support team so I can take a closer look?

Thanks,

Archie

No, we have not resolved the issue.  Great video during the day, foggy and unclear at night.  We have cleaned the lens.  Our other cameras are fine day and night.

@msmartyu

Is your outdoor camera near any large light fixtures or floodlights? It could be an issue with your Night Vision settings if you are not seeing things clearly at night. How bright is it outside at night in your area?

Best regards,

Brad
