Why is my nest doorbell not smart enough after all this time to differentiate between a person and a dog? I've read the posts where Nest support people say it can get confused by someone crawling on your porch or wearing a dog t-shirt, that's not what is going on. This is a dog, on my porch, and Nest saying it's a person. Come on! I've been waiting for several years for them to get smarter AI to be able to differentiate between a dog and a human. Shouldn't be that hard! I've implemented activity zones to try to get the camera not to care about things down low, but it still does. So frustrating. I don't want 100 notifications a day saying there's a person on my porch when it's just my dog wandering around. I want actual people notifications. Can you please fix this already?

Hi aaronnandi,
Thank you for posting here in the community. I apologize that your Nest Doorbell is sending incorrect notifications when it detects dogs or people. I understand how frustrating this can be. Help's here.
Please keep in mind that the Nest doorbells use machine learning to ensure notifications are as accurate as possible; however, this isn't always perfect. The Nest Doorbell Camera is more likely to accurately detect objects that are larger, nearby, and within a clear view of the camera. And your Nest doorbell may misidentify things or confuse with certain events.
To adjust the detection settings, follow these steps:

What are you suggesting I do in the detection settings? Find a face that looks like a dog and tell Google that it's not a person? All the faces are of people. All the faces that I've given it names for, and the faces that are still unnamed are of people. It seems to be smart enough to know that those faces aren't dogs, but it still notifies me of a person every time it sees my dog. Seems like Google should be able to train it's AI what a dog looks like and have it exclude that from person detection. AI is trained.

Hi aaronnandi,
Thank you for your reply, and I appreciate the details and suggestions.
To clarify, I tried to outline the steps for ensuring the correct event detection settings. This could be troubleshooting the issue.
