RECONNECTING DEVICES TO NEW OR UPDATED WIFI

Hello all!!! I need HELP.  Why is it that you have to reset ALL of your Devices all over again every time you update/edit, or reset your internet modem? It's pissing me off. I just moved into a new home and I have 2 Google nest battery cameras outside (up high) and one doorbell camera.  Technology is too great, for this.  Why can't I just search/ scan the network for my wifi name,  enter password then boom????

Hi @LisaLisaBonett

Thanks for posting here in the community. I understand how frustrating it can be to reconnect devices after a Wi-Fi update. Help's here!

Try the steps here:

  • Security Changes: For security, it means your devices need to be re-authorized with the new WI-FI info. During the update, all devices will need to forget the old network and connect to the new one with the updated password.
  • Factory reset: This erases all your personalized settings, deletes the entire video history, and restores the factory default settings. Follow these steps to factory reset Nest cameras.
  • Set up: The app takes you through the steps. You need the app to connect your camera to Wi-Fi and get recorded video. Follow these steps to Set up Nest cameras.

Currently, the Google Home app doesn't offer a direct way to reconnect cameras to a new Wi-Fi network. However, we're always looking for ways to improve and appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue improving our products to meet your needs.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Melany
