Rain detected as moving vehicle

I see posts about cameras flagging rainfall as moving vehicles; has anyone found a solution other than eliminating moving vehicles as a category (that’s not going to happen)?

Last night it rained, and the camera recorded it 195 times as “moving vehicle.” I’ve repeatedly told it “no.”
Notions? Thanks y’all.

Hi NCD,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest camera notified you of rain as vehicle movement 195 times. I understand how inconvenient this is, especially since you've repeatedly indicated that it's incorrect. I'd be happy to help!

Nest cameras send alerts based on detected changes in color and lighting, which can sometimes lead to unwanted notifications. Creating activity zones can help refine these alerts by specifying areas you want the camera to monitor for motion. This allows the camera to focus on relevant activity and reduce notifications triggered by changes outside the designated zone. For more information, you can check out this article: Set up and use Activity Zones.

Additionally, if you have a Nest Aware subscription, you can find a list of available alerts for your device, including improved accuracy for motion and sound detection. To learn more, you can see this article: How Nest cameras detect sound and motion.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
