Recording/motion detection gaps

jrsanders77

There need to be controls for pre- and post- recording. I understand the doorbell will only record when motion is detected for battery saving, but it's faulty and these controls could compensate for that.

For instance, my nosey neighbor approaches and looks iny windows. The doorbell caught the neighbor going to the window, but failed to capture the person leaving. Upon review of what was recorded, it looks like they had to have broken in since the doorbell was asleep at the post. #fail I've seen other complaints like this and it looks like the threads are quick to be closed instead of the questions answered, so I'll submit this as feedback/defect that it is. please fix

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how upsetting this may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this. The newer Nest cam (battery) and Nest doorbell (battery) go into an idle mode when they are not set up for wired connection, and sometimes events can be missed if there was no motion detected, or an event to wake up the device.

We’re always looking for ways to improve, and appreciate your feedback. You can send it at any time using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps found here

Best regards,
Brad
