Question 1.
I need advice about what to do to protect from squirrels trying to chew and destroy the exposed power wire connecting the Floodlight body to the Nest Cam Camera. The issue here is about the 4" long power wire hanging and it is exposed under the Floodlight and the Nest Cam. I hope it will never happen but you never know. I have lots of squirrels in my backyard and once in a while they're climbing on the outside wall of my house. It is a legitimate concern.
Question 2.
I did not expect to see that the Floodlight domes are both completely sealed off. There are no incondescent light bulbs inside the rounded body. I guess it must have an LED circuit board inside behind the sealer fluorescent light diffusers. Please tell me, what is the life expectancy? Indefinitely? How do I control the intensity - dimmer/brighter? Can Google Hub control dimmer/brighter when it receives a command? "Hey Google, dim/brighten the floodlights"

Hi NYPete,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Google Store doesn't have a cable protector accessory. If you want, you may check your nearest local store if they have one.
If you start streaming video from your camera with the floodlight, the floodlight will turn on automatically.
1. Open your Google Home app and select your floodlight.
2. Drag the slider to change how bright the floodlight is.
About the voice command to change its brightness, that feature is not available. I'd suggest you send yours with our Send Feedback form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this.
Regards,
Emerson
