Please tell me I do not need a subscription to see live feed and video playback? This will be so frustrating knowing I spent all this money for just a doorbell?

Yes, you need to subscribe to Nest Aware to see video playback. I'm having issues with it though. My free subscription ran out and I re-signed up and can't get videos to play back.

Well I have Nest Aware and all am getting is a snap shot not the video feed. What’s going on? This never happened till Google took over, so many problems now.

Make sure you are subscribed to Nest Aware. After you install your Nest Aware, you get 30 free days of video stream. After 30 days the free subscription ends and you have to actually subscribe to Nest Aware and pay monthly for the live feed. Hope this helps.
