Something went wrong

During setup, after it finds my wi-fi network (T-Mobile home internet), I enter the password and connect.  Its working for 3-5 minutes and comes back with a something went wrong.  We couldn't connect to the network.  Check your password.  Password is correct.

I have reset the doorbell, made sure cellular data is off (put it on airplane mode) and disconnect all devices paired to network.

I am beyond frustration.  Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi @MattD036,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Doorbell couldn't be connected to the WI-FI network and got an error message. I appreciate all the efforts you've been making to resolve this inconvenience. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What model of Nest Doorbell do you have?
    • Is it 1Gen or 2Gen?
    • Is it wired or battery?
  • Are you using the Google Home app or Nest app?
  • What's the status LED light of your Nest Doorbell?
  • How far is the Nest device from the router?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Factory Reset your device: As you perform the reset. Please press the reset button until you hear a second countdown tone. Refer to this article: Reset your Nest Doorbell. Depending on the model you have.
  • Power Source: If you have a battery doorbell connect it to its original charger. For a wired device, make sure is plugged into a power while performing a factory reset.
  • Uninstall the app: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, it can solve some glitches.
  • Set up: The app takes you through the steps. Follow these steps to set up your device.
  • Pairing: Ensure the doorbell is ready to connect. Visit our Help Center to learn more about Nest Doorbell lights.
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi: Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
