Splitting Camera Access

Cshane1011

Hello.  I have 18 cameras set up (10 upstairs and 8 downstairs) and want 2 people to have access to all the cameras and 2 people to only have access to to the 10 upstairs.  Is this possible with Nest Cameras?

From my experience I doubt it. Only way i can see that being possible is to have two separate accounts controlling the 10 and 8 respectively. Im no expert though so dont take my word as gospel..

Hello Cshane1011,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. We have two ways of sharing access to the Nest Camera, depending on what type of Nest Camera you are using. If you are using a 2nd Generation Nest Camera or Doorbell, once you share access with your home member, they will have access to all of the devices in the home structure. Another option here is to connect those 10 upstairs cameras to a different home structure so that you can select which people will have access.
But if you happen to be using the 1st generation Nest camera, you can just share the video stream on those 10 upstairs cameras.

Thanks for the help, @Anonymous

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,
Edmond
