Subscription and App

Hi: I just purchased a Nest Flood light camera and I have a Nest door bell cam installed. The Door bell cam is two or three years old. I have been accessing it with the Nest App and no subscription. I bought the Nest Flood light hoping to have both cameras on the same app. However it looks like the New Flood light Cam operates on the Home App. So Question one is Can I move my existing 2 to 3 year old Door bell Cam to the Home App?

The second question is what is the cost of the subscription service and can both Cameras be on the same subscription?

Thank you for your help

Google Nest decided that the new cameras and doorbells released starting later in 2021 would work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website. For older cameras and doorbells, event history (but not 24/7 video history) can also be viewed in the Google Home app, but they are still administered in the Google Nest app. We have older cameras and doorbells and 2 newer cameras, and so have to use 2 apps.

A few weeks ago, Google Nest put up a "preview" version of a new website for all cameras, home.google.com. So far it livestreams cameras but you can't view history.

A Nest Aware subscription ($60/year US) and a Nest Aware Plus subscription ($120/year) cover all cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure", including old and new cameras and doorbells.

Hi js53knott,

Thanks for reaching out and for providing that information. As long as you're using the same email address on both apps you'll be able to have access on your Nest doorbell to the Home App. Also, Nest camera with floodlight is one of the new versions of Nest cameras and it can only be set up and controlled remotely through the Google Home app. When you subscribe to the Nest Aware subscription it will be applied to the home structure and it will cover all the Nest products under that home. In your case, as long as your Nest camera and Nest doorbell are on the same home structure, they'll be under the Nest Aware subscription.

I appreciate your response, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,
Emerson
