Turn Off Notification for Familiar Faces

Batwam
Community Member

Hi there,

Copying this again as it doesn’t appear to be implemented. Could somebody please explain how I can turn off notifications for familiar faces or at least for myself? I don't really need to get notifications every time my family is in the garden. I understand that the option exists to remove switch off notifications entirely when you are at home but I would still like to be notified about unfamiliar faces when I am at home.

Camera settings. Events. Seen events. You'll see the familiar face detection toggle down the bottom on the right hand side...

Individual camera settings that is the way i find it

Would this disable the notifications for familiar faces or disable face recognition altogether? I’m ok with face recognition, what I don’t want is to receive the notifications. I just want notifications for People, excluding familiar faces”.

Hi everyone,

@Batwam, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. If you turn familiar face detection off, your Nest Camera can still send alerts when it detects a person. However, it won’t recognize faces.

To change the familiar face detection settings:

Home app

  1. Open the Home app .
  2. Tap Settings and then Subscriptions and then Nest Aware and then Familiar face detection.
  3. Turn familiar face detection on or off for each camera.

I appreciate the help, Fraa.

Regards,

Emerson

Hello Batwam,

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. How's it going with your Nest Camera? Were you able to perform the steps I’m suggesting? We'd be glad to hear from you.

Thanks,
Emerson
