Trying to setup new device (Google outdoor camera) and it is not recognized. I have tried it in Nest app and Google Home app. Have reinstalled Google Home app and tried again, same thing. I have been successful in adding all Nest cameras and doorbell. This is the only outdoor camera and the only Google branded camera. Have tried everything and it will not recognize it. Help!

It depends on which camera you actually have. The Google Nest Battery Camera that has been sold since Sept. 2021 gets installed ONLY in the Google Home app, while the Google Nest Outdoor Camera, which has NOT been sold by Google Nest since Sept. 2021, gets installed ONLY in the Google Nest app.
What happens when you try to install? What does "not recognized" mean?

It's Nest Cam Outdoor or Indoor Battery model. Mfg date 7/2021. I have tried installing it with both Google Home and Nest apps and get the same message that it was unsuccessful. Is there a way to do factory reset on the camera? I was using it for the last year + with no problem but had to reinstall due to wifi password change.

I am having the same problem. We switched Network providers, and everything reconnected fine, except for my two outdoor Google battery cameras. I can have them sitting next to the router and still will not pick up the wi-fi. When connected to the power line, it chimes, the light turns solid white, but then starts to slowly fade on and off. I have restarted my router, reset the cameras to factory settings, using the little ush button on the back, nothing works!

If you're changing the Wi-Fi for a battery camera, Google Nest's process is to remove the camera from the Google Home app while still on the old Wi-Fi network and the camera is online; if the camera was online, then this should ALSO factory reset the camera.

If the camera was offline, then you'll have to perform a factory reset manually (see below), and then reinstall the camera in the Google Home app.
Press and hold the reset button:
At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you'll hear a countdown tone.
At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you'll hear a confirmation tone.
Release the button. Your camera will restore to its factory settings.

Supposedly,
"The status light will pulse white when your camera is charging with the USB cable."

It should pulse blue if it's ready to connect.

The factory reset worked for me but I had to do it twice as I didn't hold it down long enough the first time. Do it and make sure to hold reset down until the light turns blue and you hear many chimes.

The factory reset did the trick. Thank you thank you thank you.
